The cache key is the request path. Query strings are ignored unless a prefix opts in, so tracking parameters do not fragment the cache.
Origin cache directives are honoured as sent. Where origin says nothing, hashed paths get a long max-age and everything else is revalidated.
Least recently used entries go first. Eviction is local to the gate; a neighbouring node may still hold the same path.
