Assets are addressed by full path. Nothing is listed, and a path that was never written answers 404 rather than a directory.
Hashed build assets are treated as immutable and cached for a year. A new build produces new names, so no purge is needed.
A miss is fetched from the origin bound to that path prefix. Origins are configured, never derived from the request.
